USS Yosemite Silver Presentation Plaque
This silver plaque made for the crew of the USS Yosemite, an auxiliary cruiser served by members of the Michigan Naval Brigade, a unit of the United States Naval Militia. The USS Yosemite served during the Spanish American War. Many members of the crew were faculty, students or alumni of the University of Michigan. The plaque was made by Gorham of Providence Rhode Island, a highly influential silver manufacturing firm. Hallmarks along the bottom. Measures 19 1/3" H x 16 1/2" W.
