US Navy Miniature Waterline Ship Recognition Models--SOLD


Produced by The Special Devices Division of the US Bureau of Aeronautics. Consisting of 20 WWII era waterline models made by The Comet Metal Products Company of Richmond Hill, New York and contained in a hinged wooden US Navy specially made box marked with The Bureau of Aeronautics, being device number 5-A and serial number 289. These particular models each of which have the name of the type of Japanese ship printed beneath the wooden plinth on which the ship stands and used as a silhouette recognition training device. A very unusual and rare item in the correct USN box(14 in x 14 in x 4 in) with clips and carrying handles. Ships are great in a sound box, most unusual and very rare.
