Magnetic Azimuth Compass by Richard Rowland--SOLD

An azimuth compass of miniature proportions manufactured in Bristol by Richard Rowland. He worked in the area from 1792-1811 until he was succeeded by his Sons who kept the business profitable for another 10 years. The compass measures nearly 4" in diameter and approximately 2" in height. There are two sighting vanes that can be removed and stored at the base of the compass bowl. Works very well and swings smoothly towards North. Slight brass spotting and discoloration, but no dents. Very rare and portable.
