Georgian Pocket Compass--SOLD


A very handsome compass dating to around 1800 set in a hinged mahogany block measuring 3" square. The compass has a shapely blued-steel needle ,marked N & S), and a clear engraved foliate compass rose, the card divided into degrees and also showing all the points of the compass. The needle is held by a brass locking mechanism which comes into play when the lid is closed. In full working order. Excellent condition.
